As Prime Video’s celebrated series Mirzapur gears up to debut on the big screen as Mirzapur: The Movie. The trailer of Mirzapur has alread generated a buzz among viewers. Ahead of the film’s release, it has been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with an ‘A’ rating. The Ali Fazal and Pankaj Tripathi-starrer, produced by Excel Entertainment, headed by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, has also locked a final runtime of over three hours.

The film has received its certificate on August 29. The CBFC has cleared the film with an ‘A’ rating, revealing that Mirzapur The Movie’s runtime exceeds 3 hours.
According to the details on the website of the CBFC, the runtime of Mirzapur The Movie is 197.19 minutes, which means that the film runs 3 hours, 17 minutes and 19 seconds long.
Notably, Mirzapur The Movie joins the post-pandemic trend of violent films having longer runtimes. It started with Animal (2023), which ran for 3 hours and 23 minutes. Later, The Bengal Files (2025) was cleared at one minute longer, at 3 hours and 24 minutes. Dhurandhar (2025) had a runtime of 3 hours and 34 minutes, while its sequel, Dhurandhar The Revenge (2026), was 3 hours and 49 minutes. The duration of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 – The Rule (2024) was also 3 hours and 20 minutes.
Similarly, Border 2, which was released this year, was also over 3 hours long, with a runtime of 3 hours and 19 minutes. Raja Shivaji’s Marathi version ran at 3 hours and 15 minutes, while the Hindi version of the historical drama was shorter by 8 minutes. Finally, Toxic, which hit the screens on Wednesday, August 26, also had a duration of 3 hours and 14 minutes.
