Manasi Parekh is finally back home in Mumbai after a harrowing journey through China and Nepal during her Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage. The actor had been travelling with Sadhguru’s Isha Foundation when flash floods and landslides disrupted the route, turning what began as a spiritual journey into a nerve-racking journey back home.
After reaching Mumbai safely, Manasi took to social media to thank fans and well-wishers for their messages, calls and prayers. Recalling the last few days, she described the experience as overwhelming and said making her way out of China and reaching the Nepal border “felt like winning a war.”
Manasi Parekh shares ordeal from the trip
Manasi revealed that a massive landslide in Nyalam, a town in China’s Tibet Autonomous Region, left her group stranded inside their bus for nearly four hours. Once the route was cleared, they continued their journey towards Nepal by road.
The ordeal did not end at the border. Manasi said another landslide had hit the Nepal side, forcing her and the other travellers to get off their buses and walk through the affected stretch to reach vehicles waiting on the other side. “Then after a long bus ride of 40 miles we reached the border of Nepal where there had been another landslide which we had to walk through as there was no other way for us to make it till the buses waiting on the other side,” she wrote.
From there, the group continued towards Kathmandu. Manasi described the journey as one of the bumpiest bus rides they had experienced, with the capital still four hours away. “And then it was the bumpiest bus ride of our lives as we made our way to Kathmandu which was 4 hours away,” she said.
Despite everything she had endured, Manasi said the difficult journey was worth it because it brought her back to her family. “But all this was worth it because it meant coming back to Mumbai, to my family and getting to kiss my daughter,” she wrote.

A video from Mumbai airport also captured an emotional reunion, with Manasi seen embracing her husband, singer Parthiv Gohil, and their daughter Nirvi.
Earlier, during the pilgrimage, Manasi had revealed that she was safe in China even as devastating flash floods hit the Gyirong Port area near the Tibet-Nepal border. She had also shared that she was supposed to be at the same location shortly before the disaster struck.
The actor’s safe return comes amid the larger devastation caused by the floods and landslides in the region, which disrupted travel and left several pilgrims and travellers stranded.
