Music has been at the centre of Swanand Kirkire’s career as a lyricist, composer, and playback singer. Now, he wants to take his music directly to the listeners through his own platform. The multi-faceted artiste intends to release one original track every month on his YouTube channel. The first step in his new chapter is Akelaa, a romantic song composed, penned, and sung by him, which will begin streaming next week.
“Romantic songs have always been close to my heart. There’s something timeless about love; it keeps evolving, yet remains deeply personal for everyone,” said Kirkire, explaining why he began his endeavour with a romantic track.
Releasing singles on his personal channel can be seen as a way for the acclaimed artiste to own his music. But it’s more than that, asserted Kirkire. To him, it’s also a way of staying immersed in the world of music. “Releasing one song every month is my way of staying connected to my creative instinct. It’s not about scale or pressure, but about consistency. I want to build a space where listeners can come back for something emotional, something that speaks to them on a personal level.”
