Goa’s Town and Country Planning Minister Vishwajit Rane announced that construction permits will now be granted on a “need-based” basis only in developable areas. This decision comes after the state initiated steps to freeze land in eco-sensitive zones, including riverbanks, aiming to rectify past planning errors and protect ecologically sensitive regions.
