A teenage boy was allegedly stabbed to death by his friend following a dispute over an objectionable photograph on a mobile phone in Beed district of Maharashtra, police said on Monday.

According to police, the incident stemmed from an argument over an objectionable photo on a mobile phone, which escalated into a violent altercation, PTI reported.
Incident near Limba village
The incident occurred around 8:30 pm near Limba village in Shirur Kasar tehsil on Sunday night. The deceased has been identified as Sumit Gavate (19), a resident of Belura village.
One arrested, three on the run
According to the news agency, Police have arrested one of the four accused involved in the crime, while three others, including a Home Guard jawan, are absconding.
Case registered, probe underway
Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and have launched an investigation into the matter.
80-year-old woman killed by brother, police solve case within 24 hours
In a swift breakthrough, the Mumbai Police have solved the murder of an 80-year-old woman within 24 hours of discovering her body in Andheri East. Two accused, including the victim’s brother and sister-in-law, have been arrested in connection with the case.
The case came to light on April 24, 2026, when civic workers alerted Andheri Police Station after finding a highly decomposed body inside a drain near an open plot close to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, in the Om Nagar area of Marol Pipeline Road.
Police teams reached the spot immediately and conducted a preliminary inspection. Given the condition of the body, an accidental death report was initially registered.
