‘Save me,’ Marina told brother on last call before Jabalpur cruise tragedy

After the tragic capsizing of a cruise in Bargi reservoir where three members of a Delhi family of six died, relatives reveal crucial details of the ride.

Three from the family — Marina, 39, her four-year-old son, and her mother, Madhur Massey, 62, lost their lives. Marina’s husband, Pradeep and their 14-year-old daughter survived.

Marina’s brother Kuldeep Mohan said, “My sister was on a video call with us, showing us the view and the water. Then suddenly everything changed. She kept crying, ‘Save me… save me…’ and after that the phone disconnected.”

He alleged negligence by authorities, claiming no warning was issued to tourists despite a yellow weather alert. He asked, “If it is a tourist place, there should be a permanent rescue team. Emergencies do not come with warning.” The death toll went up to 11 on Saturday.
