Rumours of Ranbir Kapoor headlining Dhoom 4 have resurfaced time and again, but the actor has now addressed them himself. Speaking during the promotions of Ramayana, Ranbir dismissed the speculation and revealed that he is currently focused only on Ramayana and Love & War.
Ranbir Kapoor dismisses Dhoom 4 rumours
During an interview with Review Nation on the sidelines of the event, the host spoke about the upcoming films of both Ranbir and Yash. While Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups was mentioned alongside Ramayana, the host referred to Dhoom 4 as one of Ranbir’s upcoming projects.
Ranbir immediately corrected the claim and named only two films from his current slate. “No, right now I am working on Ramayana and another film called Love & War, which is directed by Mr Sanjay Bhansali. That should be out on January 24 next year,” he said.
Ranbir notably did not mention Animal Park, the planned sequel to Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s 2023 blockbuster Animal.
Reports about Ranbir joining Dhoom 4 have circulated for several years. In 2024, a Pinkvilla report claimed that producer Aditya Chopra considered him the ideal actor to take the franchise forward. Around the same period, hairstylist Aalim Hakim shared photographs of Ranbir sporting a new look. In 2025, reports also claimed that the film would feature two female leads and an antagonist from the South.
The first installment of the Dhoom franchise, an action thriller, was released in 2004. Directed by the late Sanjay Gadhvi, the film starred Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Uday Chopra, Esha Deol, and Rimi Sen. The second installment, Dhoom 2: Back in Action, was released in 2006.
