Now, Aamir’s close friend and Lagaan co-star Amin Hajee has explained why the two were not present and shared fresh details about the private celebration.

Speaking to Rediff.com, Amin revealed that Kiran was out of the country during the wedding. “Kiran was in the UK at the time. Azad flew back for the wedding.”

On Reena’s absence, Amin said that not attending the ceremony did not mean there was any problem in their relationship. He said, “I think some absences are natural. Sometimes giving people their space is also a gesture of love and respect. You don’t want to make someone uncomfortable on such an important occasion.”

He added that Aamir continues to share a cordial relationship with both Reena and Kiran. “They continue to share a healthy relationship. Through the Paani Foundation, Aamir, Satya (Satyajeet Bhatkal), Kiran and Reena still work together professionally.” Amin also recalled an instance of Aamir supporting Reena when her father passed away.

Aamir Khan’s friend on his third marriage

Amin Hajee has come out in support of Aamir Khan following criticism over his marriage to Gauri Spratt. Calling the actor deeply respectful of marriage, Hajee said Aamir has always moved on responsibly, looked after his former families, and remained honest in his relationships. “I have seen him go through heartbreak. I have seen him cry. Relationships are never as simple as outsiders imagine, and it’s unfair to assume only one person is responsible when a marriage ends,” he shared.

About Aamir Khan’s marriage

Earlier this month, Aamir married longtime friend Gauri Spratt in an intimate ceremony in Mumbai. The couple, who had reportedly known each other for nearly two decades, made their relationship public in June 2026 before exchanging vows on July 5 in the presence of family and close friends.

They are reportedly set to move into a luxurious Rs 100-crore sky villa in Mumbai once the redevelopment is complete. The spacious residence is expected to house Aamir’s extended family, including his mother, children, sisters, and reportedly his former wives, Reena and Kiran.
