Ayushmann Khurrana receives audio threat demanding crores

As the debate around the security of Bollywood celebs continues to do the rounds, actor Ayushmann Khurrana has received a threatening audio message demanding crores of rupees. The audio was allegedly sent from a person claiming to be associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Ayushmann Khurrana receives threat

According to IANS, the actor received an audio message, threatening him and demanding crores of rupees from him. Police are reportedly investigating the threat and verifying the sender’s claimed identity.

As per Mumbai Police sources, the authenticity of the audio clip is currently being verified. The voice in the audio clip is being matched with an accused already on police records and is allegedly linked to the claimed identity. Meanwhile, the cyber cell is currently tracing the number and location from which the message has been sent.

The police noted that several callers in the past have misused big gang names to create fear. As a result, verification is crucial before an FIR is officially filed. While the investigation continues, the sender’s association with the Lawrence gang is yet to be established.

So far, neither Ayushmann Khurrana nor the Mumbai Police have issued any official statement yet.

Tusshar Kapoor received extortion threat

Notably, this marks the second such instance of extortion threat in just two days. Earlier on Monday, actor Tusshar Kapoor had received a similar threatening phone call for extortion. The caller reportedly claimed to be Harry Boxer, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, and demanded Rs 5 crore from the actor.

According to preliminary investigations, the audio clip in Tusshar Kapoor’s case could be phoney, the police said, as the voice in the audio did not match the previous police records.

Meanwhile, the police are currently investigating whether there is a connection between the two events or if other people are simply spreading fear in the film industry by using the name of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

The threats come in the wake of the attack on actor Tiger Shroff. Armed gunmen opened fire on Shroff’s vehicle when he was exiting a football ground in the city on October 18.
