Chand Mera Dil starring Ananya Panday and Lakshya is all set to hit the screens on May 22. Ahead of the release, according to reports, the makers have extended the film by 11 minutes. On May 20, the makers reportedly once again approached the CBFC and informed them that they had voluntarily added some scenes to the film, for which they wanted clearance. Accordingly, the CBFC reviewed the extended cut and passed the film just in time for the release.
Chand Mera Dil extended by 11 minutes
According to a Bollywood Hungama report, as per the list, 8 scenes have been added. While some scenes are merely 9 seconds, 16 seconds and 35 seconds long, others range in duration from 1 minute 1 second to 1 minute 34 seconds. One of the scenes in the first half reportedly has a runtime of 3 minutes and 55 seconds. The total duration of these 8 additional scenes is 10 minutes and 17 seconds.
Accordingly, the new run time of Chand Mera Dil now stands at 145.53 minutes, that is, 2 hours, 25 minutes and 53 seconds.
Kissing scenes deleted from Chand Mera Dil
An earlier report from Bollywood Hungama revealed that the CBFC had directed the makers to remove a 10-second kissing sequence from the film and replace it with alternate visuals. The board also reportedly asked for the deletion of `lip-lock kissing visuals` of 1 minute and 26 seconds. In total, around 96 seconds of kissing scenes were censored from the film.
After the removal of kissing scenes, Chand Mera Dil`s previous runtime was 135.36 minutes, which translates to 2 hours, 15 minutes and 36 seconds. However, after the addition of the 8 scenes, the runtime has now increased.
Along with these, the makers were also instructed to submit consent letters for all child artists appearing in the film.
Chand Mera Dil stars Lakshya and Ananya Panday in leading roles. Directed by Vivek Soni of Meenakshi Sundareshwar (2021) and Aap Jaisa Koi (2025) fame, the film is produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Somen Mishra and Marijke deSouza.
