The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Sunday organised a solemn commemorative ceremony at the National Police Memorial to honour its personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty. The event was marked by deep reverence and attended by families of martyrs, senior officers, and members of other Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).
The ceremony paid tribute to 127 CISF personnel who made the supreme sacrifice while safeguarding national assets and security. Officials said the programme reaffirmed the force’s unwavering commitment to national security and to the welfare of its personnel and their families.
Families pay homage at ‘Wall of Valor’
The event began in the morning with the arrival of families and next of kin (NoKs) of fallen personnel, along with CISF officers and their families. In an emotional tribute, families offered flower petals at the central sculpture of the memorial. Additional Director General Binita Thakur laid a wreath in honour of the martyrs. A ceremonial band performance added to the solemn atmosphere.
Families were later taken around the memorial complex, including the ‘Wall of Valor’, where the names of martyrs are inscribed. The visit evoked a sense of pride and remembrance among attendees. A special performance by the CISF band further paid tribute to the fallen personnel.
DG Praveer Ranjan honours families at CISF headquarters
As part of the programme, a special film showcasing the courage and contributions of CISF personnel was screened for the families. Senior officers also felicitated the next of kin, expressing gratitude for their sacrifice and resilience.
In the afternoon, CISF Director General Praveer Ranjan presided over a separate function at the force headquarters in New Delhi. During the ceremony, he personally interacted with the families and honoured them, acknowledging their unwavering support to the force.
The commemorative event served as a poignant reminder of the courage, dedication, and supreme sacrifice of CISF personnel, while reinforcing the organisation’s enduring commitment to its personnel and their families.
