Kanpur police have busted a Jamtara-style cybercrime network in Reuna village, arresting 20 individuals for duping Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana applicants. The gang used fake government schemes, posing as officials to extract Aadhaar details and then demanding registration fees via digital payment apps. Some members also impersonated police officers to extort money from victims.
