The situation at Kedarnath Temple continues to remain challenging due to persistent adverse weather conditions. After three days of continuous rainfall, snowfall was also recorded at the shrine on Tuesday, ANI reported.
Despite the harsh weather, the enthusiasm among devotees remains high, with a large number of pilgrims continuing their trek on foot to seek the blessings of Baba Kedar.

Morning darshan at Kedarnath Dham witnessed a pristine white layer of snow covering the entire temple premises. The snowfall has further enhanced the serene and picturesque beauty of the holy shrine, drawing admiration from devotees and visitors.

Safety arrangements along trekking route
The administration has deployed extensive safety measures along the trekking route from Gaurikund to Kedarnath.
Personnel from the police, PRD, SDRF, NDRF, and the Mule Task Force have been stationed at key points, including Junglechatti, Bhimbali, Rambara, Bhairav Glacier, and Linchauli, to ensure the safe movement of pilgrims, the news agency reported.
Close monitoring by authorities
District authorities are closely monitoring the situation. Sector Magistrates and Sub-Sector Magistrates have been issued necessary instructions to respond swiftly to any emergency.
Despite rain, fog, and snowfall affecting parts of the route, the pilgrimage continues under strict supervision.
Pilgrimage movement and precautions
According to ANI, Rudraprayag District Magistrate Vishal Mishra said the Kedarnath Yatra is progressing steadily, with over 3 lakh devotees having already completed their pilgrimage. He noted that pilgrims are continuing to arrive despite deteriorating weather conditions.
As a precaution, pilgrims have been halted at several locations along the route and are being regularly informed about potential risks.
Medical support and emergency readiness
Medical relief points have been activated along the route, with healthcare teams on standby. In case of emergencies or health issues, DDRF personnel are also available to provide immediate assistance.
Rain, thunderstorms bring dip in temperatures, improve air quality in Delhi
Meanwhile, overnight rain and thunderstorms led to a drop in minimum temperatures across the city on Tuesday, while also improving air quality levels.
The 24-hour cumulative rainfall recorded till 8:30 am stood at 4.6 mm in Safdarjung, 6.1 mm in Lodhi Road, and 11.9 mm in Ridge. Palam recorded only a trace of rainfall, while Ayanagar remained dry, PTI reported.
In terms of temperatures, Safdarjung recorded a minimum of 19.6 degrees Celsius. Palam registered 21.1 degrees Celsius, Lodhi Road 18.6 degrees Celsius, Ridge 17.7 degrees Celsius, and Ayanagar 22.4 degrees Celsius.
The IMD has forecast a maximum temperature of around 33 degrees Celsius, with the possibility of thunderstorms and rain later in the day, PTI reported.
Air quality also showed marked improvement, with the AQI standing at 69 in the morning hours. According to CPCB standards, an AQI between 51–100 is considered `satisfactory`.
