Kochi Metro’s Phase II operations, initially slated for June 2026, are now targeted for April 2027 due to a temporary funding crunch. The delay, caused by a stalled foreign loan, has been resolved with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank’s approval. The entire 11.2km stretch from JLN Stadium to Infopark will be commissioned in a single phase.
