Mushtaq Khan death: Son Mohsin carries father’s mortal remains to cemetery

Mushtaq Khan’s death has left the industry mourning. Earlier, Mushtaq’s son Mohsin Khan had shared details about his funeral to be held at the Yaari Road cemetery, now in a video, Mohsin is seen carrying his father’s mortal remains to the Qabrastan. Mohsin was seen in a devastated state as he held on to one corner of the casket. He was accompanied by his family members and friends at the cemetery. 

Earlier, Mohsin spoke to Bollywood Chronicle sharing details about the funeral and also shared how his father would love to be remembered. He said, “Yeh dukh ki gadi zaroor hai… jinhone unhe pyaar diya hai, kaam ko pyaar diya hai… dukh ki jagah let’s celebrate his life. Woh humare bich nahi hai, yeh sach hai. Lekin unke yaadein, unka kaam hamesha humare saath rahega.”

He further shared that father Mushtaq Khan was hoping to return to work, but his health wasn’t in the right state to push him to work again.

His contribution to Cinema

Mushtaq Khan, who worked extensively in Hindi cinema, was known for his memorable supporting roles in films such as Rowdy Rathore and Hera Pheri. In recent years, he appeared in movies including Gadar 2, Badhaai Do and Stree 2. However, he is perhaps best remembered as Balu, the hockey player in Welcome (2007), where his comic “Meri ek taang nakli hai” sequence became one of the film’s most recalled moments. Beyond films, Khan also had a notable television career, appearing in shows such as Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi, Adaalat and Chamatkar.

Mushtaq Khan passed away

Mushtaq Khan passed away on September 24 after being hospitalised for the last few days. According to his business partner, who spoke to Hindustan Times, the actor had earlier been diagnosed with lung cancer and had recovered following treatment. However, the cancer reportedly returned earlier this month. His health subsequently deteriorated, prompting his admission to a hospital for further treatment. Despite medical care, Khan’s condition continued to worsen, and he breathed his last on Thursday. His death has left the Hindi film and television fraternity mourning the loss of the veteran actor, known for several memorable performances.
