Ranveer Singh’s Pralay shoot to begin in August amid the FWICE-Don 3 controversy

Despite the controversy surrounding his reported exit from Don 3, actor Ranveer Singh is moving ahead with his ambitious upcoming film Pralay. According to recent reports, the large-scale zombie thriller remains firmly on track and is expected to begin shooting in August 2026. According to Bombay Times` sources close to the production have reportedly confirmed that all preparations are progressing smoothly and there are currently no delays linked to the ongoing dispute involving the actor.

All about the FWICE-Don 3 row

The controversy began after reports claimed that Ranveer had stepped away from Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3 shortly before production activities were set to intensify. The development allegedly caused concern within Excel Entertainment, which had already invested heavily in pre-production work for the film. Soon after the reports surfaced, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh. The organisation reportedly accused the actor of failing to respond to multiple communications sent regarding the issue and the losses incurred by the production.

Pralay to commence shoot with Ranveer Singh in August

However, BT`s insiders connected to Pralay have dismissed speculation that the film may suffer setbacks because of the ongoing row. Industry sources reportedly clarified that the makers remain confident about the project’s timeline and are continuing with pre-production exactly as planned. Meetings related to scripting, visual design, and action planning are said to be actively underway ahead of the scheduled shoot.

Pralay is being described as a high-concept post-apocalyptic action thriller set in a dystopian world overrun by zombies. The film is expected to present the zombie genre in a fresh and cinematic way for mainstream Hindi audiences. Directed by Jai Mehta, the project is backed by Hansal Mehta’s True Story Films in collaboration with Applause Entertainment and Ranveer Singh’s production banner Maa Kasam Films. Reports suggest the film is mounted on a massive scale and is expected to feature extensive visual effects and action-heavy sequences.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that producers associated with Ranveer Singh’s upcoming films may consider approaching the Competition Commission of India if the FWICE directive creates complications for ongoing productions. Several industry insiders believe that any disruption could affect hundreds of technicians, crew members, and daily wage workers employed on large-scale film sets.

Despite the Don 3 controversy continuing to make headlines, Ranveer Singh appears focused on his upcoming projects and future collaborations. Apart from Pralay, the actor is also reportedly in discussions for another major venture with director Aditya Dhar following the commercial success of the Dhurandhar franchise. For now, Pralay remains one of the most anticipated projects in Ranveer’s upcoming slate, with shooting expected to commence as scheduled later this year.
