Aakhri Sawal: Sanjay Dutt`s trailer delayed by CFBC a week away from release

As Sanjay Dutt`s Aakhri Sawal, based on the history of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), gears up for release on May 8, fans are still awaiting its trailer, which is yet to be released. According to a latest report, the trailer is currently pending clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), as the movie is just a week away from release.

Aakhri Sawal trailer pending with CFBC

According to an India Today report, industry sources told them that the makers had submitted the trailer to the board several days ago, but are still awaiting approval. Generally, trailer certifications are processed within three working days. However, in the case of Aakhri Sawal, four days have passed without a response.

“The makers of Aakhri Sawal are still unable to release the trailer due to a lack of clarity and no response from the CBFC. As per the rules, a response is expected to be delivered within 3 working days, but it has already been 4 days,” a source reportedly told India Today.

Notably, the delay comes despite the trailer having been revised and resubmitted twice by the makers. Sources suggest that the board has yet to communicate any definitive feedback to the filmmakers. “The makers have revised the trailer twice, yet there is still no definitive communication. This uncertainty has left the producers and the entire team anxious about what they should do,” the source added.

Film awaits certification

Additionally, the film, which was first submitted to the board on April 20, is also pending with the board. Its screening took place on April 27. According to industry practice, screenings may take time to schedule, since board members must be notified and a mutually convenient time is arranged.

While the makers have unveiled the film`s first look and an official teaser, neither the trailer nor the film has received certification so far. With the theatrical release date just a week away, the lack of clearance has raised concerns within the production team, leaving makers worried.

Aakhri Sawal is produced by Nikhil Nanda and Sanjay Dutt and directed by Abhijeet Mohan Warang. It is a courtroom drama that traces a century-long history of the RSS. The film revolves around politically sensitive themes, including the Babri Masjid demolition.
