HJTIHH: David Dhawan clarifies AI babies in teaser are not part of the film

David Dhawan and his son Varun Dhawan are reuniting for the fourth time for the comic caper Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. A fun teaser was released a few days ago, giving audiences a glimpse into the chaotic yet mad world. The teaser featured AI-generated babies, which led social media users to assume that the movie might include AI elements. However, the director clarified that this element is not part of the theatrical version.

David Dhawan on AI-generated babies in teaser

Talking to ANI in Mumbai, David clarified that the AI-generated babies were only for promotional purposes and do not feature in the theatrical version. “It is just a tease. Teaser ka matlab kya hai? Kuch alag karne ke liye banake dekha humne,” said the veteran filmmaker.

The internet was quickly reminded of Sandwich, starring Govinda, Raveena Tandon, and Mahima Chaudhry, which was also directed by David. According to him, the plot of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is not what was shown in the teaser.

In a candid revelation, the filmmaker hinted that this could be his final directorial venture. “I don`t think I should do more. Vo to chahta hi nahi mai kaam bhi karu, healthwise dekhkar… This might be my last film… after this, I`ll just be Varun`s father,” Dhawan said.

He also shared an emotional anecdote from the film`s shoot, revealing how Varun supported him during a health scare. “I was very unwell during the shooting of this film… especially on the fourth day, I had to go to the hospital. Varun took great care of me—he had all the doctors` numbers, stayed in touch with them, and was always there. He`s a complete family man,” he said.

David Dhawan heaped praise on his son while highlighting their strong bond and mutual respect, both on and off screen.
