Veteran actress Neetu Kapoor, who is currently soaking in the reviews for her performance in her latest film, Daadi Ki Shaadi, recently shared insights into her personal life. During the promotions of the film, Neetu Kapoor candidly opened up about her granddaughter Raha Kapoor. The veteran actress also opened up about Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor`s parenting styles and how they are raising their daughter.
Neetu Kapoor says Raha is scared of Alia Bhatt
During her recent appearance on Soha Ali Khan’s podcast, Neetu Kapoor spilt the beans about Raha’s bond with Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor. The actress said, “Raha listens to Alia, and she is a great mother, but Ranbir is like a friend to her. He does all the fun and masti with her, but she is very scared of her mother because Alia is a disciplinarian.”
Further praising Alia’s parenting style, Neetu Kapoor said that the actress is extremely good with her daughter and that she is focused on teaching her younger one the right values, including limiting television and avoiding unnecessary distractions.
Neetu also humorously revealed that she often has playful disagreements with Alia over pampering Raha. She shared, “I am always fighting with her, saying, ‘Alia, at least let me give her one chocolate.’ But she says, ‘No, can’t you understand sugar is not good for her?’ I tell her, ‘It’s okay, I am the grandmother, let me spoil her.’”
Neetu Kapoor on her relationship with Raha
When asked if children are generally closer to their maternal grandmothers than their paternal grandmothers, Neetu spoke about her perspective on the subject. She explained that mothers often speak more about their own mothers, which naturally helps build a stronger bond with them. However, Neetu said that she feels fortunate because the family lives together, which allows her to share a close relationship with Raha, adding that she affectionately calls her “Dida.”
Ranbir and Alia dated each other for quite some time before tying the knot in April 2022 in an intimate ceremony. Later in the same year, in November, the couple welcomed their first child, Raha.
