The Indian Embassy in Lebanon facilitated the return of five Indian nationals from the Gulf region. The Embassy expressed gratitude to the Lebanese authorities for the smooth exit.
In a post on X, the Embassy said, “The Embassy of India in Beirut has successfully facilitated the return of 5 Indian nationals to India. Our sincere thanks to the Lebanese authorities for their cooperation and support in facilitating their smooth exit.”

Earlier on April 15, Indian Ambassador to Lebanon, Noor Rahman Sheikh met Director General of General Security Department Major General Hassan Choucair to discuss welfare of Indian diaspora among other issues.
In a post on X, the Embassy said, “Ambassador HE Noor Rahman Sheikh met Director General of General Security Department Maj Gen Hassan Choucair and discussed issues of mutual interest including cooperation in capacity building and welfare of Indian community in Lebanon.”

The first batch of 177 Indian nationals, being repatriated to Delhi in a charter flight, arranged by their Company, was seen off by Ambassador Noor Rahman Sheikh at Beirut International Airport on March 11. The Embassy of India in Beirut stands committed to extending best possible assistance to Indian nationals in Lebanon, it said in a statement on Instagram.
Meanwhile, Israeli air attacks on southern and eastern Lebanon killed at least 13 people and injured over 12, in violation of a ceasefire brokered by the US last month, Al Jazeera.
At least four people were killed and three others injured in an Israeli air strike attack on the town of Zellaya in eastern Lebanon, Al Jazeera reported, citing local sources.
Earlier on May 5, the Israel Defense Forces struck a structure from where two armed Hezbollah terrorists launched an anti-tank missile.
